Introduction

Prototypes allow us to explore and test assumptions without the cost of building fully building a product.

It allows us to rapidly define and get things in the hands of users for feedback.

Using the prototype kit we can build a realistic-looking, accessible representation of services.

This gives us a much higher fidelity than Sketch or Figma (though these do have a space in prototyping) and can also benefit from being able to integrate with services like GOV.UK Notify to make prototypes that can send texts and emails.

There isn’t a right or wrong way to prototype, simply the style you get used to.

However, there are ways to leverage the technologies to work in different ways to make it easier to manage.
